Without naming which it is, I live in a country that, for the most part, is a functional democracy. You can tell some families are better off, and some folks get slaps on the wrist when they deserve a lot worse, but people are safe. Happy. They do have some sort of voice. The place my family fled from? Not so much.
It pisses me off when people here shout "fascism!" or "communism!" at anyone just a hair to the right or left of them because the folks that do that were always born and raised here, never had to deal with those systems and the horrible things that happen under them. They don't really get that living somewhere where voting seems like a chore as opposed to a cause for anxiety is a blessing.
I'm not going to pretend I understand the Colombia situation. But I hope it resolves in a way that leaves you in a position to continue making your art for years to come. Stay safe.
