Funnily enough ignoring people is almost definitely the closest to successful "gatekeeping" you can get. Try and keep people out and the overwhelming majority of the time you're just being an exclusionary jerk. But if someone new is being real weird and toxic just... ignore them.
99% of the time they're just looking for attention. The other 1% of the time they'll keep screaming into the aether or, worse, posting their weird and usually concerning fics/art even if no one's looking, but on most sites and services ya can just block them and their stuff anyways.

Apathy is anathema.
