Well, I will admit in terms of color VARIETY the wings might be a bit much, but as far as the brightness of the feathers I think it's spot on given the creatures name. If it's supposed to be from a tropical region, I'd follow the patterns of the local fauna. Most have 3-4 feather color palettes.
