My best guess is it's the homestuck stuff kinda turning some people off because of the shit they hear about the fandom. Which is their loss cause dangsonit'sgood.

I mean if I'm understanding Homestuck's ending right (which could be entirely untrue) Rose and all the other Beta kids are inside whatever the hell the green-black hole thing is. Assuming they didn't come back for a long enough time, with Roxy being immortal because godtier and Kanaya being immortal because vampirism, it's not out of the question to think they could've tried something out.
