What happened to the 4th head?

Haha, it's referring to a point in the book in which the main family has a statue of Cerberus on their grounds, and the main character and his brother (who he is a clone of) represent the metaphorical "fourth and fifth" heads of the statue.

Okay so I remember when I was a wee lad and the bookfair was still a thing, I got a calvin and hobbes book. Ya know it was one of those ones that just piled all the comic strips together. From what I can remember, this panel was just a cutaway. There was no context, it just showed up, delivered the joke and I think that was the point. Like it was supposed to be the random kinda funny.

I'd say it's stylistic, like the opening credits for Samurai Jack. Works wonders if you ask me.
