On the one hand, I loved Dragon Ball as a kid and I can't deny it's effect on inspiring plenty of good stories.

Still have no idea WHAT he is, or what happened to the world, but I'm guessing he's some sort of superorganism with an Alex Mercer view of the world where anything less "evolved" needs to adapt or be absorbed.
